The party had lunch and a swim at the Parakal Springs on arrival and then proceeded to the field lent by Mr. Sheffield, to decide the different field events. Results were :—Bending race: C. Dixon (Royal Knfleld) 1, R. Hunt (Velocette) 2. Blindfold ride.' R. Hunt (Velocette) 1, C. H. Brindle (Velocette) 2. Slow race: C. E. Plummer (Ariel) 1. Novelty race: G. Mudgway (A.J.S.) 1, C. E. Plummer (Ariel) 2. Acceleration test: C. H. Brindle (Velocette) 1, C. Keofe (Velocette) 2. All members travelled In a steady manner, and no machine out of 'the 40 •present had what could be termed a noisy exhaust. Preparations are well 1n hand for the second fcreat racing picnic at Henning's Speedway, Mangere, to be held on Sunday, .February 5. Last month over a thousand people witnessed the finest day's racing held anywhere In Auckland In the last 10 years. The speeds were high, and the winners could often be picked only by the Judges directly opposite the finishing post. y./, Perr>, wio will,-be competing •fflp, equalled J"»rcy Coleman's 10-year-old lap record'of 84s with a <350 c,e. Velocette, and broke It with a time of I-3s on a 000 c.c. Velocette.
