Earl and Countess Beatty Entertained. The tea kiosk whs decorated in patriotic colours, and the tea table*) looked colourful and most artintic. The president of the League. Mr. t'. If. T. I'll liner, and Mis. l'almer, the 'latter wearing a navy blue ensemble and navy hat. received the guests. They included the Mayor. Sir Krnest Davis, and Lady Davis. Among the entertainments arranged for the week is a launch picnic next Thursday afternoon, given by Mr. and Mrs, If. O. Wiles on their launch, the Lady Margaret. The guests will include the league committee of men and women. Mrs. Palmer is giving a morning tea oil Friday at the Lyceum Club. Mr. C. Whitney has made arrangement* to take Earl and Countess Beatty on their Hahing trip to Taupo. Prior to the garden party the visitors Were taken to the many beauty s[>ots of Auckland, including Titirangi.*
