ONEHUNGA APPLICATIONS. METHODIST CIRCUIT PROTESTS. Permission having been given to the Onehnnga branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association to play friendly cricket matchcw on the Waikaraka Park 011 Sunday*, the Onehnnga Borough Council received at it« meeting last night two applications for the same privilege from the Onehnnga Cricket Association to play matches with county clubs, and from the Auckland Transport Board Recreation Club. I he Onehnnga Methodist Circuit wrote expressing the. view that organised sports meeting* at Wnikarnka Park on Sundays wa« socially undesirable. Both re<|ue«ts were granted, and the letter of protest from the Methodist Circuit was formally received.
