CONTROL SCHEME. Empire Council Has Drafted Proposals. DOMINIONS CONSULTED. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 18. The Associated Press says the Empire Meat Council has drafted a tentative scheme for control of the mutton and lamb imports. This has been submitted to the Dominions with a request that they express their views on it. The council has expressed its willingness to revise the plan if necessary, before submitting it to the Board of Trade. Also the restrictions will be imposed only when essential. The council will meet on Thursday when the Dominions' replies are expected.
