CRACK SHOT.
MRS. WILL MAHONEY. • INTERESTING HOBBIES. To look cit her you would never think she even knew what a gun was. MrsWill Mahonev, .when dragged out of bed early this morning, looked remarkably feminine. Clad in sea green lounging pyjamas, which incidentally were spangled with an amazing number of silver stars, Mrs. Malioney looked more like a fashion picture from an American magazine than a female gunman, and a good one at that. • However, she soon • started talking about ,12-guage shotguns, about-the formality of shooting In England, and how in Melbourne she won two trophies at the Nobel Clav Gun Club.
In tlic course of conversation it turned out tlmt her husband's main hobbies were shootin' . aiul ~ iisliin'."Oh, yes," she remarked, "he lias taught me to fish, too. Why, we have carried orates of fishing gear right across the world and we are leaving to-morrow to see what the trout are like in your Rotorua district. We are travelling in our own utility wagon. It's a lovely fire brigade colour. We saw a lot of the country of Australia touring on our own and we do hope to do the same in New. Zealand/' Mr. and Mrs. Will Malioney are incidentally on their honeymoon. They were married in London in March and since that date they have heen touring Australia in the show business. Mrs.Malioney herself started in variety work at the age of four, and, as she herself says, has been brought up in the atmosphere of the stage. In giving her impressions of Australia Mrs. Ma honey remarked on the healthy appearance of the women. "They look so much stronger than the average English woman," she said, "and they seem to me to be a lot taller."
