Henderson unit of the Western Suburbs Returned Soldiers' Association took the form last night of a Mad Hatters' danee/;'The-function was in aid of the northern queen, Miss Betty Harvey. "The other three queens were present. Prizes for hats weic won by: —Best hat, Mrs. Hudson, a cabbage; most original, Miss Wornuild, flower garden; humorous, Mr. Xoble, "As You Like It"; original (men), Mr. S. Sullivan, pack of cards. A back to back waltz was won by Miss Pat Garrett and Mr. Gus Hcrkt; Monte Carlo, Miss I. Shiska and Mr. L. Duncan; competition, Mr. H. E. Hansen. Among those present were: Mesdamcs J. Scanlan, Brightmore, Mclvin, Hudson, Bayer, Morrison, Potter, Bains, Harold Booth, Pratt, Montgomery, Smith, R. Bayer, Misses M: Pilgrim, J. Monteith, B. Lee, Mary Martutinovieli, G. Ingham, M. V" CHILDREN'S PARTY.; The women's division or tlie Avondalc Labour Branch held a very enjoyable Christmas party for members' children in. the Catholic school: hall this week. The hall was -kindly lent to them by Father. Colgan. There were 140 children present together "with, their par--1 ents and a most enjoyable time was spent. Afternoon tea was provided for the parents. All children received a i Christmas present, as well as lollies, [ cakes, fruit, ice creams, and drinks. The ladies on the social committee were Mesdames .
