■ OFFICERS OF v INSTITUTE. An appeal to tlie public to co-operate to the fullest extent in the preservation of New Zealand's native hush was made by Mr. M. J. Galvin, inspector of reserves for the Nortli Island, in an address at the annual meeting of tlie Auckland District Council of tlie Institute of Horticulture last evening. Warrants of appointment as honorary inspectors of forest reserves were presented by Jlr. Galvin; to the following: Messrs. J. C. Henley, O. G. Adams, A. P.. von Schramm, G. F. Joseph, B. M. Davis, P. B. Parr, ,T. B. Paterson, J. B. Kishworth, W. B. Rcyburn, C. Mnckley, G. Graham, A. li. Shaw, J. Prickett, J. M, Melville and F. L. Moodie.

Tlio following officers wore elected: President, Mr. W. H. Rice; vicepresidents, Messrs. M. J. Sullivan and (.4. F. Joseph; chairman, -Mr. J. \y. Keuly; committee, Mrs.' J. W. Tatterslicld, Miss Jr. W. Crooks, Professor 11. H. Corbin, Messrs. J. B. Paterson, T. L. Lancaster, L. Paynter and B. M. Davis s Comnienting on the animal report, Sir. Rice stated on behalf of the citrus committee' that the experiments being carried out at the plot at Mount Albert were 011 a comprehensive scale and would prove of inestimable value to tlie fruit industry.
