AMUSEMENTS.
ROXY - TIVOLI.
Murder strikes on a musical cue in Mr. Moto s latest ease —one of the most unusual angles ever woven into the mystery assignments of this bland Nipponese counterpart of t'liina's Charlie Chan. Four times during "Mysterious Mr. Moto," which opens at the Roxy and Tivoli Theatres to-morrow, assassins strike with terrifying suddenness. and each time the ''death tune'' is the signal for their lethal deeds. Peter Loire once again gives a ilawless portrayal of the famous sleuth, while Mary Maguite, the rising young Australian actress. Henry Wileoxon, Krik Kliodes and Harold Huber have important supporting roles. The story tells of the efforts of Mr. Moto to protect a Chechoslovakian steel magnate who has been marked down for murder by an International League of Assassins, to frustrate attempts on his own life by the same organisation, and also to track down its leader. Exciting incidents occur thick and f.i-d throughout the film, and all combine to make it one of the most hairraising and entertaining that Lone has madefl'lie veteran Western actor, George O'Brien, is the star of "The Kencgade Banner." on the same programme. Bita Hay worth is the leading lady.
