Modern orchestrations of populai | airs sustained the merry note of the (entertainment. the latest swing music with its lively rhythm heing skilfully interpreted. An outstanding feature of the programme was the '"Lainhetli Walk." which again captured the enthusiasm ot the (lancers, and was pelfoiined with /.est an<l appropriate oioi's" to give point to its theme. An encasement celebration was a jollv event, and .Tohnny Madden's ehow sdii'js were pleasing interludes. At the conclusion of the evening Mr. Neil Kdgir. manager of the cabaret, paid a hearty tribute to the versatility of Mr. Lauri Paddi and his colleagues. mid to their efforts in ensuring the enjoyment of dancers. Mr. Paddi replied in appreciative terms, and referred to the splendid co-operation of his players. Among thoi?e present were: Mrs. Butcher, Mrs. O. <1. Richardson (Wellington), Mrs. R. Wall. Mrs. F.
