POLISH UKRAINE.
TROUBLE FORECAST.
Problem More Serious Than
Memel.
FORCE BEING FORMED. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 1 p.m.) LOXDOX, December 13. The "Manchester Guardian" says the problem of the Polish Ukraine is more serious than that of Memel, and already a Ukranian force is being formed in Carpathian Ruthenia, to which German officers are being drafted. The situation will probably be most acute in February.
W ell-informed circles are of opinion that the trouble can he solved without war, though it will create diflicult problems for western Powers.
With regard to Memel it is believed Lithuanians will accept "peaceful cooperation, thereby coining under German protection."
The Memel correspondent of the British United Press says the demand tliiit the Lithuanian (iovernmcnt resign and be replaced by the exiled ex-dicta-tor, Yaldemaras, was made by a meeting of 2tMM) members of Lithuanian parties oil the ground that the Government had surrendered to Poland and alienated Germany.
