PHEASANTS SURVIVE.
END-OF-BEASON IJBERATION.
Conclusive proof that end-of-season liberations of pheasant* survive stressed in a report received from the Waitemata Acclimatisation Club at la-t night's meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society.
Between May 1 and June 30, 1938, <l!»4 pheasants were shot in the Waitemata county area exclusively, the report stated. The average fc-i the 3S jiuns responsible was 18. Of the birds shot, three \v.?ro ringed, having been liberated by t;ie AVaitc iimla Club two seasons ago, bringing the total up to 18 rinsed birds of the liberation shot by members of the club.
