COSTUME DANCE.
FUNCTION AT TE ATATU. A successful "Back to Childhood" dance was held in the Te Atatu Hall in aid of the Tennis Club. There was a crowded hall and the dance went with a great swing. The judges had a difficult task in judging the winners, as there were many novel and amusing dresses and styles. The prizes were awarded as follows:—Sets, Misses J. and E. Savage, E. Owens, J. Booth and M. Jones (Dionne quintuplets); prettiest dress, Misses A. Hazard, M. F. Booth and E. Farmiloe; prettiest man, Messrs. Schiller and A. Hodgens; comical dress, Messrs. W. Hazard and L. Schiller.
The hostesses for the evening were: Mesdames Watts, jun., Robv, Scott, Booth, Sullivan, Thomas and Miss Moore.
Among those present were: Mesdames McCormick, Watts, sen., Hazard, Patrick, (French, L. Schiller, R. Schiller, Devich, Mills, Spears, Robertson. Istich. Fitzsimons; Owens. Ryan. Lee, Lawless, Milton, McFarlane. Griffiths, Daley, Gustafsson, Short, Pijacun, Barrington; Misses Williamson, Noyes, McCormick, Flannigan, Istich. Ingham, V. Booth, Pijacun (2), Curtain. Spears, Stewart, Kennedy, Coupland, Baker, Staley, McGrorv, Blennerhasset, Snowden, McLaren and Robertson.
