DEAF CHILDREN.

LADIES' AUXILIARY. SOCIETY'S WORK. An enthusiastic meeting of ladies was held in the Auckland School for the Deaf. Myers Park, on Wednesday afternoon. 'Mrs. E. J. Sexton, chairman, presided and spoke at length of the objects of the new society. Several excellent suggestions were made by various members, and a tentative programme for 1939 was drawn up. It was decided that in future all meetings would be held on the third Thursday of each month, the next meeting being on February 18, 1930. A eomjietition was won by" Mrs. Blomfield.

Those present were: Mesdames E. ,T. Sexton. A. Cavaye, A. Blomfield. A. R. H. Francis, Powley. T. M. Pattullo, Muiin, Canavan, R. Martin. Page, E. S. Winks. J.P., and Misses Pattullo, Colley and Clare.
