Workers' Comment!. FTorc nro a few comments by workers, vhich support, the contention that when h'iko decinlonn ore rnndi , no little intimidation it employed becntino the cereey of the ballot i« not relied upon. "Kegardinjr the Htrike at Went field or ilnpwnik «M it in called thi* time — n ■oho by any other name," writes a corrpiipnndriit to the "Star." "There arc WO men and girln ntated to he out on »trlk«> yet only 130 of these will get my benofttw from it, tho others beinjj ■|ulto natiwfled with their conditions. It '« stated that the others came out in •ympathy. Nothing of tho sort. They •time out. because thoy were called out fiy their union, which is controlled by ."he butehom, who earn such big money that a few days off work means nothing n them. But what of the others—the nhnurers and other workersT I am willing to take a bet that if a secret fin Hot were called work would start at once. The present system of making these decisions is to call for n show of hands. If a show of hands does not suit the would-be strikers, the others eiro hooted and jeered and bullied until they throw in their lot with the crowd. Another thing Is that all the men who are on tile 'off shift' are never considered or have any say, but arrive at -diiff. time to start work only to find noiio to do.
"I nni "imp that the general public do lint know many of these fact*, hut In hour under the misapprehension that ill freezing workers are hothead* and rlUsatUfled. This in not no, and I am only one of many who are 'Fed up to the hack tooth. , "
