MINISTER'S APPRECIATION.

Appreciation of the spirit shown by r i»kapunn Jockey Club in presenting to the people of Dovonport the club's racecourse of MO acres, U expressed in a telegram received by Mr. E. W. Alison, from the Minister of Internal Affairs, tile Hon. W. E. Parry. Mr. Alison was founder of the club and president for no years. *

I he telegram sent by the Minister was as follows:—"I heartily congratulate you and members of the Takapunn Jockey Club on the tlno public spirit shown in presenting to the people the nicpcoiira© wren, nt IVvonport. ft i* a valuable gift, which, in the light of the generosity of the club and the admirable aim underlying the gift, will be warmly appreciated by the people.
