COAL MINE IDLE.

ROTOWARO DISPUTE. CLAIM MADE feY TRUCKERS. PAYMENT FOR EXTRA HOUK (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HUXTLY, this day. The Rotowaro mine wag idle to-day owing to a dispute between the truckers and the management. This morning a stopwork meeting was held prior to the commencement of work, and as it continued after the time for commencing work the mine was laid idle. It is understood that yesterday the mine was laid idle after about 3 p.m. owing to a shortage of wagons, and the truckers stayed behind in the mine after that time. The truckers, it is alleged, considered that they should be paid for the extra hour.

The meeting this morning continued for half an hour after the time work should commence, and when the men presented themselves for work at 8.30 o'clock, the mine had been laid idle.
