THE AVONDALE TRACK. The course proper, on which the poles were out 40ft, and the plough were open for fast work at Avondale this morning, the going on the former being hard. Master Appellant (P. Fearn) finished two lengths in front of Ventre a Terre (Fergus) at the end of four furlongs in 53 3-&s, the last three taking 40s. On the plough High Tea (Fearn) was a length in front of Kenneth Robert (Goldfinch) after traversing four furlongs in 48 2-ss, the last three taking 36 2-as. Both these horses should perform well at Ellerslie. Bystander (Fearn) completed three furlongs in 37 4-ss. finishinc strongly. Royal Tray, Paso Robles, Strathearn, Silver Eagle, Paxeno, Monte Cristo. Popeye and Airam were among those to do useful work.
