OTAHUHU DISPUTE.

STATEMENT BY SOCIETY. MI SCON C' K PTI ON REMOVED. (Ity Telegraph.—Tri'ss Association.) WKMJXC T()X, Wednesdav. The executive council of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants has issued a statement in connection with the recent dispute at the Otnhuhu railway workshops. "It has been brought to our notice," says the statement, "that there is a general impression among our society's members in connection with the dispute at Ot.ilmhu that the society placed the matter in the hands of the Xew Zealand Federation of Labour. This impression is not founded on fact, as the society has not at any stage of the proceedings decided on such action. The executive is of the opinion that as a union tlie xocietv is big enough, strong enough and capable enough to handle this or ariv other dispute which might arise in connection with railwaymen or their conditions.''
