WATER SUPPLY LOAN.
NORTHCOTE PROPOSALS. NEW RESFRVOTR AND MATNS. Improvement of the water supply service at Northcote has been decided upon by the Borough Council. The proposals comprise the const ru«-t ion of a new reservoir to hold 2">0.000 gallons, at an estimated cost of .C.'i.'iOO; the provision in Onewa Road of a new six-inch main, £75)0; the concrete lining of flic water main for the full length of Ualefgh Road, from Ocean View Road to Road. £200; and the purchase of a gas clilorinator for the pumping station. €210. At a special meeting the council decided to apply to the. Local C.overnmeiit Loans Board for a # uthorjtv to borrow £4.500 for the purple.' The se<yiritv for the loan would be an annually recurring sjiecial rate of one-thinf of a penny in the £ on the unimproved value of the whole borough.
