VISIT TO ROME.

GERMAN ENVOY. Far-Reaching Reactions Foreseen. PRESS SPECULATION. I'nited Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 1.30 p.m.l LONDON. October 26. The "Daily Telegraph" Berlin eorI respondent says the settlement of the Hungarian-Slovak dispute, giving Hungary Kosice and other towns, is I claimed likely to emerge from Herr vim Kibbcntrop'.s Rome conversations, but it is expected that Germany will noi support the Hungarian claim for Mrnti-lava. It ii- likely that Italy will abandon tentative support of the Polish and Hungarian claim- in Ruthenia. Germany'- objection to a. common PoloHungarian frontier prevailing. The correspondent adds that Herr von j Itibbeiit nip and Count ( imio will discii—— Franco-I leniian relat ions. There is at present no i|ii:stinn fit' a KrancoCcrmaii pact, but Herr Hitler is expected to make a friendly declaration to France on the lines of the Munich document. It will be necessary to know how far a Franco-German no-inore-war declaration can be reconciled with the terms nf t-he Italo-German understanding, but in view of the recognition of Abyssinia by France the difficulty can be overcome. The resulting improvement in FraneoCeriiNin relations would create an atmosphere in which negotiations for a non-aggre-sion pact could be begun in the spring. Klsewhere it is suggested that Herr von Ribbentrop will 'discuss aNo the Italo-Cerman answer to Britain, America and Franee on rearmament and the effect of Spain on application of the agreemnt between Britain and Italy and the possibility of improved relations between Germany and Britain, as well as Italy's part in supporting German colonial claims. Ihe I imes ' Rome correspondent says a new affirmation of Italian-German and -Japanese solidarity is improbable, because it would give « new and unjustified character to the triple pact.
