Entries may be posted either to the editor of the 'Auckland Star" or the editor of the "Christchurch StarSun, by whom they will be received up to and including FRIDAY, NOVEMBER If. The prizes offered are:—First, five guineas: second, three guineas; third, two guineas. In addition entries are invited for a competition for the best description of "MY STRANCEST CHRISTMAS." Nearly everyone makes plans for Christmas, whether at home or elsewhere, but sometimes—whether through accident, bad weather, the unpredictable actions of other people, or a combination of circumstances—plans go astray, and people find themselves spending Christmas in incongruous surroundings. Have YOU had such an experience ? If so. and you think it will interest other people, write a description of it and enter for this competition. Entries mud not exceed 600 WORDS in length. They should be marked My Strangest Christmas" on the envelope and addressed either to the editor of the "Auckland Star" or the editor of the "Christchurch Star-Sun." Unsuccessful entries will not be returned unless accompanied by a stamped, addressed envelope. The closing date for this competition also is Friday, November 11. The prize for the best story is £1 11/6. and others accepted for publication will be paid for at 10/6 each.
