(By Telegraph.— Special to " Star.")
HAMILTON, thia day. The going on the course proper 55ft out wna hard and fast for the final gallopa of Te Rapa horses for the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt on Saturday, and several useful trials were recorded. The plough waH also in use and a fair amount of galloping waa recorded on thin track. Nothing of an outstanding nature was recorded on the course proper. Wrackle (McKenzie) ran home from the three furlong post in 40 4-ss. Stanstead (Thomson) who looked all the better for hia recent racing, went once round in 2.10 4-5. The improving Jean Quex (Telford) and Forest Lake (McIn/illy) were aflaocintcrt over four furlongs in 58\4e, the final three occupying £!*■ . Tavern Song (R. E. Thomson) and Sinking Fund (Ozanne) ran once round in 2.0 4-5. Tavern Song is bearing a healthy appearance and should atrip well for engagements at Rotorua. where he is to contest the Hack and Huoters' Handicap. Forest Acr,> (Mclnall.v), who look* none the worse for recent exertions, worked freely over sue furlongs in 1.22.
The balance of the morning's programme was performed on the plough, ihe Bronze Eagle filly, Bronze Step, now located in M. J. Carroll's stable, worked freely over a round. Hunting Blood (Mclnally), who ia bearing an improved appearance, strode over six furlongs under a strong hold. Kilberia (Goulsbro) went once round in 1.31. He is on the upgrade again, and should be in good order when called upon to race. Raceline (McKenzie) worked over a round and sprinted up the straight. This improving hack is looking more robust than formerly, and should give a good account of himself in the Hack Cup at Arawa Park. Mio Fratollo (Dav), Alio Lume (Hain), Green Label (Winder) and Strathmore (Thomson) were associated over a round which they compassed in 1.50, the final six of the trial being cut out in 1.22. Mio Lume failed to go away on terme with the other trio and was standing them up fully ten lengths at the start, but he was practically on terms with Mio Fratollo in the lead at the end. Calorie t Thomson) was doing better than Sing ■ee (Hain) at the completion of half a mile in 30s. It was a useful effort on the part of both horses, and Sing Lee will have to be taken into account at Rotorua, especially in the event of further rain failing. Allegretto (Mr. Vercoe) Waa worked usefuily over a couple of rounds. Heiupton (Winder) and Cynical Smile (Day) ran home from the six furlong poet in 1.23 4-5, their last half-mile occupying 57a. Free Advice (Ensor) was holding Goldation (Thomson) at the end of five furlongs in 1.5V4. Tavern Song (R. E. Thomson) and Sinking Fund (Day) were companions in a schooling bout over two hurdles in front of the stands. J. Day having a fortunate escape when Sinking Fund crashed through the last obstacle and threw him heavily. Day received a shaking. Tavern Son# executed his work in pleasing style, and Interest will attach to his showing at Arnwa Park. Mangukaha (J. Mnir) was schooled over four flights of hurdlea and acquitted herself satisfactorily.
