NATIONAL PARTY.
CANDIDATE HONOURED. PRESENTATION MADE. "For the sake of the country T nsfc for your continued support." said Mr. I .J. W. Kealy. at a soeial evening held in his honour at the All Saints' Parish Hall last evening. An enthusiastic reception was accorded Mr. and Mrs. Kenlv by the large attendance present, and Mr. Kealy thanked all who had helped ill organising his campaign and for the goodfellowship shown him. The evening was arranged bv the Auckland West organisation of the National party. Red. white and blue painted lilies, and a festoon of red. white and blue streamers made attractive decorations. During the evening Mr. Ward read a message from the Hon. Adam Hamilton and telegrams from Mr. George Mills, president of the Auckland division. Mr. .1. I). Donald, vice-president of the Auckland division, and Mr. W. J. Campbell. Mr. -1. Terry, chairman of the candidate's committee, on behalf of the member!*. friends and supporters, presented Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Kealy with a chiming clock. A boui|Uct of flowers was presented to Mrs. Kealy by the secretary of 1 lie women's organisation, Mrs. .1. B. l-'inlavson. Tributes to the work of both Mr. and Mrs. Kealy were paid by the president of the women's organisation. Airs. .J. T. Schischka. while the chairman of the branch. Mr. E. W. Ward, and Mr. F. W. Doidge, M.P. for Tauranga, in paying homage, spoke also on the fine work done by the candidate and Jiis wife. During the evening a varied programme was presented. Songs were sung by Miss .Joan Moodv. Miss P. Renner and Miss Betty Brown, the accompanists being Mrs. W. H. McKinney and Mrs. L. McGregor. Mrs. J. Pool and Mr. J. B. Finlayson gave humorous recitations, and Mr. R, H. F. Grace performed con juring tricks. Ladies at the official table included Mrs. J. W. Kealy. wearing a graceful gown of shellpink net over gold satin; Mrs. E. W. | Ward, midnight-blue flat crepe; Mrs. F. W. Doidge, black net and daffodil velvet; Mr*. A. McKenzie. gold and London tan blistered crepe; Mrs. ,J. L. Schischka, storm-black lace and floral chiffon taffetas, and Miss Flo Saunders, divisional secretary of the Xational party, black satin striped crepe.
Other members of the ladies' committee present were: —Mrs. J. B. Finlayson. wearing Calcutta black taffetas; Mrs. W. Reid, carnation pink brocade; Mrs. C. Cato. black floral Indian silk; Mrs. A. E. Collins, black and silver crepe suede; Mrs. H. F. Holmden, cornflower blue and silver embossed crepe; Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, brocade and chiffon; Mr*. M. Tyne. storm-black lace; Mrs. E. Stallworthy, love-in-the-mist dull crepe; Mrs. R. Rew. midnight-blue suede crepe: Mrs. J. S. Millar, black and safre-green floral satin; Mrs. H. M. Scott. Venetianblue lace; Mrs. J. K. Black, storm-black satin and lace.
