DRUNKEN DRIVERS.
REPORTS TO MINISTER. WARNING NOTICES IN HOTELS. "Reports have reached me from all over New Zealand regarding the numl>er of vehicles that on Saturday afternoon were in the charge of intoxicated drivers," declared the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, to-day. "This is serious enough at any time, but when this form of irresponsibility is combined with heavy holiday traffic the result is disastrous." The Minister said the New Zealand Licensed V ictuallers' Association recognised the seriousness of the position and had undertaken to display in everv hotel bar in the Dominion two "posterettes" prepared by the Transport Department.
