AT TAKANINI.
ORELIO HAS IMPROVED.
HOT BOX AND INVER IMPRESS. The middle grass was used at Takanini this morning. The poles were 10ft out, and the going wan excellent. Some useful ta.skrt were recorded. Hot Box (Inglis) and Inver (Bartle) reeled off five furlongs in 1.3, both going well. Te Poto (L'ollett) ran three furlongs in 395, and Valamito (Inglis) and Paddy the Rip (Bartle) were on terms at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.3. Proud Fox (Smith) and. Gledynev (Collett) were timed to run three furlongs in 38s, both being ridden out. Brazilian (Parkinson) and Milanion (Beguley) traversed the last four of five furlongs in 53 3-ss, and Round Up (Smith) impressed more than Arvakur (Stratton), while running five furlongs in 1.5 1-5. Orelio (Bartle) sprinted three furlongs in 38 2-ss. He has thrown off his recent soreness. Princess \al (Collett) ran a similar distance in 38 4-ss, and Glen Connell (Stratton) was going comfortably over a similar distance in 39 3-qs. Estro (Curwen) and Bronwen (Calder) ran their last three furlongs on the plough in 41s. Dauber (Tinker) and Miss Lovelock (Waltere) completed a mile in 1.46, Miss Lovelock showing to most advantage. Dauber is to fulfil hm engagement in the Ladies' Bracelet on Monday. Grateful (Inglis) worked over a mile and a quarter on the plough, running his last three furlongs m 3as. He looks remarkably well. On the same track Parquet and Inquisitor completed half a mile in 55 2-5e Gay • °U e also sprinted half a mile in 53 3-os.
Anopheles returned from Trentham yesterday, and Konneta also returned to -bilerslie by the same train.
