W.C.T.U.

MEMBERS FAREWELLED. Under the auspices of the Auckland District Women's Christian Temperance Union quite a large gathering of meml>ers and friends met in George Courts' tearooms on Friday afternoon to bid farewell and bon voyage to Miss L. M. Read, the late district president, who is shortly leaving on holiday for Honolulu. A beautiful dressing case was presented to Miss Read from the officers and members of all local unions. Mrs. Joiner also presented Miss Bead with a bouquet of spring flowers, and Mrs. H. Kasper, district president, who presided, with a shoulder spray of primroses. Mrs. Williams epoke on behalf of the district officers. Miss Head suitably replied. Items were given by Miss J. Pool and Mrs. A. L. Lewie, with Mrs. N. Walker at the piano.
