OFFICIAL DENIAL OF GERMAN MOBILISATION
(Received 10.30 a.m.)
LONDON, September 28
At Berlin the full text was issued at 2.45 p.m. of a denial by the official German agency. It stated: "It is declared in authoritative quarters that assertions published in the foreign Press to the effect that Germany has demanded a clear-cut decision to her memorandum before 2 p.m. are pure invention. All stories connected with it, according to which Germany would proceed to mobilise if an unsatisfactory answer was received by 2 p.m., are equally false."
Eighty thousand Nazi Black Guards put on army uniform, including Herr Hitler's personal bodyguard. It k learned at Tokyo, in response to soundings by interested Powers, that Japan has not gone beyond an affirmation of moral support of Italy and Germany.
