JOINT APPEAL TO-MORROW.

VICTORIA LEAGUE AND S.P.C.A. In aid of the Victoria League and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal* (Auckland), Incorporated, » joint street collection will be held in Auckland to-morrow.

The practical work undertaken by the Victoria League includes the provision of books and comforts for settlers and children in the backblocke, the entertainment of patientg in local institution* and the upkeep of soldiers' grave*.

The* S.P.C.A. in Auckland employ* two full-time inspector* in the cause of humane treatment of animals, maintain* an ambulance and a veterinary hospital at New Lynn, find* home* for abandoned and unwanted animals, and co-operates in the education of children.
