XOKTHBRN MAORI SBAT.
Nominations of candidates for the Northern Maori seat will close with the returning officer, Mr. J. H. Robertson, officer in charge of the Native Department in Auckland, at noon on October 3.
laminations so far received are those of the sitting member, Mr. Tail Henare •(Natkmaliat), Mr. Hoori Taretana, of Kalkohe, and Mr. Paraire Knraka Paikea, of Wellington, who is secretary of the Maori Advisory Council of the Labour party, arid is expected to stand a* the official Labour candidate.
The Northern Maori electorate extend* from Panmure to the North Cape, and provision has been made for MO polling booths, with headquarters at Kaikohe. In the city there will be booth* at the office of the Native Department in Emily Place and at the Manchester Unity Hall in Hobson Street. Other booths in the district trill be atationtd at Orakei, Onehunga, Avondate and Panmure. The Maori election will be held on October 14.
