OBITUARY.
MR. DAVID SCOTT. In the death of Mr. David Scott, of Fort Richard Road, Otaliuhu, a great lo«59 was experienced by the Salvation Army. Captain Scott wae one of the pioneer officer* of the corps, and during long years of faithful service he was, at various times, stationed at South Duncdin. (ierakline, Hamilton, Cambridge, Pahiatua, Xorscwood. Lin wood, Marton, Mutueka, (ireyiuoutli, Paeroa,
Aratapu and Otahuhu, and his kindly nature earned him the peteem of all with whom lie came in contact. The Brunerton Mine explosion, in which over 40 people lost their lives, is recalled, as Captain 'Scott was then stationed at Greyniouth, and he rendered valuable assistance in the rescue work. A member of the Masonic fraternity for 31 years, Mr. Scott carried out the secretarial duties of the Waitanmta Lodjre, Xo. CS9, E.C., of which he was a P.M. for over 20 years. He married Mi*s Hettie White, a well-known Army officer, who survives him, together with two daughters. Edith and Winnie, and three eons,. Edward, Arthur and Stanley.
