WOMAN PINED.

THEFT OF A RING

Charged with the theft of a ring valued at 3/6 from a city store, Ruby Kimms, a married woman, was fined £5, In default one week's imprisonment, by Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. She pleaded guilty.

Detective-Sergeant McTlugh said the accused went into the store and purchased a ring for 12/6, but an assistant noticed her pick up another ring and Blip it into her glove. When questioned the accused frankly admitted the theft. Mr. F. W. Schramm, for the accueed, Mid the latter was a married woman with two children, and a husband in a good position. Unfortunately, she had yielded to a sudden temptation to take the ring, and he was certain the position she now found herself in would be a lesson to her.
