MR. J. W. KEALY CHOSEN.
AUCKLAND WEST ELECTORATE
Mr. J. W. Kealy, jun., was last night selected as National party candidate for the Auckland West electorate, where Labour is repreeented by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage. Taking the place of Mr. H. M. Bagnall, who has resigned from the candidature, Mr Kealy at the age of 36, is a member of the Auckland City Council, the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, the council of the Auckland Institute and Museum, the Auckland council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture and the executive and emergency committees of the Auckland division of the National party, of which he is also a past deputy-chairman. He m secretary of the St. Helier's Presbyterian Church. Mr. Kealy wao educated at Auckland (.rammar School and Auckland University College, where he qualified as a barrister and solicitor. He gained local body experience on the Avondale Borough Council, and in 1927 he became at 2.>, a member of the City Council" being the youngest councillor who has held a seat. He was later defeated bnt took his present place on the council this vear.
