AN INDEPENDENT.

AUCKLAND SUBURBS,

Mr. F. Allen, Independent candidate for the Auckland Suburbs seat, addressed an attentive though small audience at Hobsonvillc last evening. He dealt fully with the increase in the taxation burden of the country, and showed the effect on the purchasing power of. the people. He stressed the fact that national policies were the business of the people, and not the sole right of political parties. Mr. Allen claimed that by their control of the Parliamentary institution the people could have a real economic democracy with individual freedom. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the candidate. Mr. A. J. Morrish was chairman.
