100 BOUE ROAD RACE. ISLAND TITLE TO McINBRNEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Saturday. The North Island and Hawke's BayPoverty Bay 100-mile amatenr road cycling championship, held from Stortford Lodge, Hastings, this afternoon, over a three-lap course, hesulted in a win for the limit man, L. Mclnerney, of the Greendale Road Cycling Club, Taradale. Losing the other limit riders early in the race Mclnerney had io make- his own pace for the majority of the distance, and rode a plucky race to lead-the lesser handicapped men home by a substantial margin. Results:— L. Mclnerney, Greenmeadows (60.0), 5h 34m 9s, 1; P. Roe, Petone (20.0), 5h 37m 47 3-ss, 2; H. A. Rogers, Palmerston North (16.0), 5h 37m 47 4-ss, 3; C. Richardson, Hastings (33.0), 5h 37m 545, 6; A. Fleming, Hastings (20.0), 6h 45m 33 3-Ss, 6. Fastest time was made by O. Dlsle; (Wellington), a scratcth rider, who clocked in at 4h 40m 58 4-ss. A Fleming, who finished sixth, won the North Island under 18 title, also made fastest time in the same section, his net time being 5b 3m 33 3-se.
