In length they should not exceed 3000 words. Each entry for the competition must he marked "Christmas Short Story," and accompanied by

a stamped, addressed envelope. Entries mar; be posted either to the editor of the "Auckland Star" or the editor of the "Christchurch Star-Sun," by rvhom they toill be received up to and including FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11. The prizes offered are:— First—Five guineas. Second—Three guineas. Third—Tt»o guineas.
