POISON RIDDLE.
DEATH OF YOUTH. INQUIRY REOPENED. CASE OF BANK CLERK. (Special.—By Air Mail.) LONDON", August 24. The source of the poison which killed 18-year-old Norman Wyeth, a Redhill (Surrey) bank clerk, in whose pocket was discovered enough poison to kill 80 people, is the subject of inquiries led by, Scotland Yard.
Since the inquest, which was adjourned for further inquiries, the police have reopened their investigations. The question to which they are seeking an answer is "How did Wyeth get possession of the poison in the form used by chemical manufacturers and not in the* form sold by chemists?"
"This is the most mysterious part of the case, Mr. W. H. Beacher, chief constable of Reigate, said.
"It is little short of impossible for a private person to get the poison in question in so large a quantity."
Wyeth died after his return home from a holiday at Whitby, Yorkshire.
During the week-end police made inquiries at York where, it was learned. Wyoth broke his journey home to visit | friends.
All manufacturers and wholesalers handling the poison are to be interviewed, and Inspector W. Barker, of Reigate, ie assisting Scotland Yard officers in their search in the metropolitan area.
