FARMING k HOW THE N.Z. DEPARTMENT ★ OF AGRICULTURE IS PUTTING «l ITS SERVICES "ON SHOW" * THROUGHOUT THE DOMINION. I |"| ★ kJANY Qf us foil to appreciate the lj ■▼* valuable work being carried out in g ★ the Dominion by our Department o.f \^r* Agriculture. Many of us are prone to think that its officials are more inspectors than instructors, and that depart- C J ' mental officers should be "shied clear of." Of late, however, there has been a pleasing change in the feeling of the farming community towards this "Cinderella" of departments. The officers of the various divisions are courteous and obliging; they are prepared to work long hours and render much valuable service, which is often not recognised or appreciated. Their work is of prime importance, and the latest method which the Department has adopted to bring its services before the notice of the farmer forms the subject of an interesting story by "The Bystander" in this week's issue of: the "New Zealand Farmer Weekly."
