ISOLATION PRECAUTIONS.

APEEAL MADE TO PARENTS

The measles epidemic among children in Wellington appears to be definitely on the wane, according to Dr. F. S. MacLean, medical officer of health, who stated today that the improvement noted after the echools reeumed for the third term was continuing. The position in the Wairarapa appeared to be much the same, but from Neleon reports were being received of an increased number of cases of German measles. An appeal to parents to observe isolation precaution* was marie by Dr. MacLean, who said that complaints were being received thai children, who had been excluded from school because of possible infection were being allowed to attend picture theatres and other place* where people congregated. That wae very much to be deplored. It was to be hoped that, attention' having been drawn to the matter, parents would exercise more discretion and restraint In order that the epread of the epidemic might be more easily arrested.

"It has also come to the notice of the Department," added Dr. Mac-Lean, "that adult* have gone about while they etill had * raeb and temperature. Besides being • very foolish thing in their own interests, they are committing an illegal act, because it Iβ unlawful for any person while suffering from any infectious disease to move about among other people.*
