'By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day.

Objections raised by religious organisations to the holding of the general election on a Saturday were referred to the Chief Electoral Officer to-day. He replied that persons whose religious principles prevented them from voting prior to sunset on polling day in districts where the hour of sunset preceded the closing hour of the poll have amj.le time to vote as the law provides that all voters who are in the booth by 7 p.m. are permitted to record their votes notwithstanding the fact that the booth has closed.
