The Duchess Alters Her Hair Style
For Women
*j'HE Duchess of Windsor has altered her hair. You know how she used to wear it, brushed sleekly across the top of her head to right and left away from the middle parting, softly waved over the ears, and in a bun at the nape of her neck. I lie new style is more flattering— wave* begin nearer rhe partiog (still centre), Iwo soft roll* pile up either side of her head, hut the lubes of the cars hit no longer hidden.
General effect ie fresh and youthful— rather reminiscent of th« style* of our gr cat - gra nd mot her s. It's a style *hich not all women could wear well without giving constant attention to detail, for dresses to go with it mint be chosen with eare. In the daytime the Duchess arranges her hair in a small back roll so that it looks like her old bun. At night it goes up in tiers of rolls at the back of the top of her head. This year hair must go up to be fashionable, right up to the top of your head cither in soft sweeping waves or large, loos* curb.
There is no need to fear that such a head-line will not suit yon. Take a look at the new hair styles shown here. They illustrate a new dressing for all kinds of hair and for all shapes of face. 1. Here is sophistication in its most fascinating form, if you have a beautifully shaped head, & colourful personality, or a husband who thinks that variety is the spice of life you must try this line'. 2. This is for the older person who likes to look fashionable without looking ridiculous. Perhaps you have not changed your hair stj'le for years, because you were rather afraid of trying the latest fashion. This is a soft new way which is perfect for older people, and as easily kept tidy as your present curls. Now is the moment tp change your hair with great success. 3. For the very fair person this is perfect, it is made to go with off-the-shoulder frocks, high cheek bones, smart black clothes and lovely ears. If you are young, with fair hair and a good skin, this is for you. 4. A demure style has been designed for those who are neither dark not fair, but in between. It is especially good for women who have soft, limp hair.
