WELLINGTON, Friday.
The Legislative Council met at 10.30 a.m. to-day but adjourned almost immediately until 12.45 p.m. when the New Zealand Centennial Bill, Samoa Amendmend Bill, Native Purposes Bill and Appropriation Bill were put through all stages and passed. The Leader of the Council, Hon. Mark Fagan, moved that the Speaker, Sir Walter Carncross, should convey to the Chairman of Committees, Hon. J. A. Hanan, the Council's sympathy in his illness and its sincere wishes for his speedy recovery to good health. Mr. Fagan said Mr. Hanan was making good progress and members all hoped that he with them when the Council met new year.
Hon. W. Perry (Wellington) seconded the motion, which was carried.
The Council adjourned at 1 p.m. until the "ringing of the bells."
