TENNIS DANCE.
PRIZES PRESENTED. MANUREWA FUNCTION. The annual presentation dance of the Manurewa Lawn Tennis Club waft held in the picture theatre and proved an enjoyable function. Durinj* the evening the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Ferguson, presented the various <'iips won by members last season, and during his speech he mentioned the added incentive offered, to new inemliers of the club by way of resurfacing of five courts for the coining season. Following were the competition winners: — Men's championship sinjrlcs, A. VV. B. McXaujrhton; ladies' championship singles. Mrs. H. Sliellam; men's championship double*, R. Bennett and I). Warlich; ladies' chauipionc-hi|> doubles. Mrs. H. Sliollani an<l Mrs. Kay Bennett; championship combines, R. Bennett and Miss ■J. Martyn; men's handi«ip singles, H. Flenuniil'i; ladies' handicap singles. Mrs. R. Sheila in; men's handicap doubles, A. Callafrhan and 0. tirant; ladies' liandicaj* doubles, Mra. K. Sliellam and Miss L. I'ickett.
A delightful supper was dispensed by the ladies. Extras were played by Miss Joan Fahv end Mr. R. Sliellam, the lastnamed being master of ceremonies. Anion™ those present were: Mesdames W. J.
