LABOUR'S PROPOSALS.

ADDRESS BY MRS. DREAVER. An outline of the policy of the Labour party was given by Mrs. Mary M. Dreaver, Labour candidate for Remuera, when addressing a crowded meeting in the Newmarket Municipal Hall last evening. Mr*. Dreaver touched in particular on the benefits -to accrue under the national health scheme. 1 Mr. J. Carter, president of the Remuera branch of the New Zealand Labour party, presided. Mies E. Johnson, M.A., ako supported the candidate, speaking on woman's place in politics. A resolution of confidence in the Prime Minister and Mrs. Dreaver wae carried with cheers. In the afternoon a meeting of ladies at the home of Mrs. P. Fitz?c-rald, 404, Manukau Road, was addressed by Mrs. Dreaver. The candidate explained the maternity benefits proposed, ako answered numerous questions relating [to pensions and religious issues. A vote of confidence was carried.
