Fraser. It was contended that the scheme was not desirable for the particular locality, and considerable objection was made to a suggestion that mooring piles for pleasure craft should be placed inside the bav.

Anions the speakers who supported the protest were Mr. R. S. Jonps, presi-

dent of the Auckland Waterside Workers' Union, and Mr. P. H. Matthews, deleprate from the Auckland Klectricnl Wofkers' Union, and president of the Orakei Residents' Association.
