RENAMED AQUILA. OPEN MEMBERSHIP. NOTED PLAYERS JOINING. The King's College Old Boys' Cricket Club had difficulty on a number of occasions last season in putting an eleven in the field. During the holidays a 16-year-old boy still at Mount Albert Grammar School filled a vacancy, and he improved the shining hour by skittling the etumps of the Plunket Shield captain (Alf Postles) and a world-record partnership holder (W. N. Carson) when King's met Eden. This was D. D. Taylor, who has further distinguished himself in Australia with the Xew Zealand Collegiate Soccer team.
Another recruit was the ex-Auckland Grammarian K. S. Arklnetall, whose slow bowling was useful on the Brabin Cup team's southern tour, and later for King's, for whom Don Cleverley also playetl and created a mild sensation at Devonport. j The restricted constitution, of t\e club has caused much reflection djttiug, the' off-season, and it was at firtt qqrife|i»' plated altering it to provide, for ship being open to past etudente c&ttfiy; secondary."scH"ool. -.
