McCarthy won the open medal handicap fonrsomea tor the Dewar Cup at Glenduwle last week-end, with a act score of 67. He has only this wagon commenced playing golf, hie play during the competition would have done credit to many low markers, and he should soon merit a revision of handicap. Hie greatest success was with long putts.
