The Commissioner of Transport advised the Taitranjra Boroupli Council at its meeting this evening that an application ] la d been received from 1,,.;,,,, Airways for a license t<. operate a continuous air service between Auckland rauranga, Opotiki and (Jisbonic. The couiKil ajrreed to the schedule of fares and charjres. and also sujr-rested that a service leaving Taiiranga in the ea.iv i.ioining and returning in the evening should l,e provided. Mr. R. H. l>. Ronayne. district engineer of the Public Works Departwas every possibility that in the near ment, informed the council that there tuture the Tauranga aerodrome would be made available for both commercial and civil aviation purposes. A small administrative building would be necessary and he would forward the plans as soon as they arrived from Wellino-. ton. For civil aviation purposes "a hangar would also be required. The council was asked to give the question of erecting the buildings early consideradon. The council referred the matter to the Aerodrome Committee.
