It is interesting to note that the determined efforts of the club to establish what is known as the water-weed on the greens are now bea.is-g fruit. the main green 20,000 plants of the Queens town weed were laboriously planted bv hand and tnese have become established, so that in several years' time there should be a perfect sward, impervious to extreme weather conditions. On the upper green there is a quantity of the Mercury Bay weed, while the original Westport weed is to be seen in patches ZLi 6 ,OWer Wmter een ' wtich is used in summer for croquet.
