A cable was received this morniag from Sydney by the Auckland Rugbr League, announcing that the New South Wales champion XIII., CanterburyBankstown, was unable to accept the invitation to visit Auckland, and. that Eastern Suburbs, the runners-up, wee prepared to come.

At a meeting of the board of control to-day, it was decided to cable an invitation to Eastern Suburbs, providing the star players of the team are included in the touring party.

The team will arrive in Auckland on the morning- of Saturday, September 24. and play an Auckland club that afternoon. Matches have been arranged for the following Wednesday and Saturday.
