WAITEMATA SOCIETY.
DISPLAY AT BIRKENHEAD.
The Waitemata Horticultural Society's ■.hud spring show was opened by Mr W J. Lyon, M.P., in the Victoria Hall,' Birkenhead, on. Saturday afternoon. . -I he daffodil display was the outstanding feature, excellent blooms of the several varieties being shown. The Incomparable daffodil "Fortune," exhibited by Mrs. F. G. Black-well in the open section, was the champion bloom of the show. The Farmers' Cup for highest points for daffodils in the open class was won by Mr. W. G. Hoyle, of. Papakura. The pomte prize for daffodil* in the amateur class was wen by Mr«. P. G. Blaekwell. The collection of native flora shown by Mr. and Mrs. J. Prickett was .".warded the Leefe Native Flora Challenge Cup.
